Samsung and Galeon Partner to Integrate AI with Ultrasound Technology via Blockchain
Samsung has forged a strategic alliance with Galeon, a blockchain-based healthcare firm, to enhance ultrasound diagnostics through artificial intelligence. The collaboration will LINK Samsung's ultrasound devices with Galeon's decentralized electronic health record system, currently operational across 18 European hospitals including Rouen and Caen University Hospitals.
The initiative prioritizes women's health imaging, leveraging AI to improve diagnostic accuracy while preserving data sovereignty. Unlike conventional AI models that centralize training data, Galeon's blockchain solution enables federated learning—allowing hospitals to contribute to model improvement without surrendering patient data.
Privacy safeguards include rigorous anonymization protocols before AI processing, with blockchain serving as an Immutable audit trail for algorithm operations rather than a data repository. This architecture complies with strict medical privacy regulations while demonstrating blockchain's potential in sensitive healthcare applications.
